Heesen Yachts are proud to announce that on Saturday 16th May 2009, at London's historic Guildhall, MY Elandess has been awarded Best displacement motor yacht of 500GT (30M-49M) at the fourth annual World Superyacht Awards.

This class, whose finalists spanned the whole range of construction materials from steel/aluminium to aluminium and composite, contained some outstanding yachts – Beothuk, Darsea, Ingot, Marama, My Trus, Platinum, Terranova and TV.
In the end it was the elegance of Elandess that won the hearts of the judges.

A total of nineteen highly coveted individually custom made ‘Neptunes’ – the ‘Oscars’ of the Superyacht World – was presented to the world’s best built superyachts from 2008.

The panel of judges consists of thirteen superyacht Owners and two highly respected industry professionals, chaired by Roger Lean Vercoe, editor of The Superyachts.

The judging panel gathered at silver sponsor Maybach's headquarters in Stuttgart in March 2009, where they considered every yacht in detail. Each yacht was awarded marks under six distinct headings, and the total of these marks determined the winners.
